Printable Morning Routine Cards

I came across this blog post and wanted to share. We often use picture cards with the kids to help them see the order of the days events. The idea of "first" and "then" is very calming to children who may not really want to do something. "First get dressed and then we can eat breakfast" along with the visual often helps.




At the bottom of the blog post you will also see a great idea (which I used when my kids were little) for the weeks outfits.

I am all for any ideas to help make the morning rush out the door more easier!

Pictures Needed

We are working on a few projects for the new school year and need a GOOD, full face picture of every child. Although I do my best they tend to either look away or I get a cheesy grin ... please email me a recent pic of your child asap. Thanks!

A huge thank you for everyone who has changed their schedule for the upcoming school year.  Having this sort of schedule really helps with curriculum planning and implementation. We will have a few kids whose schedules won't coordinate and therefore will continue to have separate group times. However the majority of the days activities will be age specific.  We will use August as our transition month; getting settled into the new schedule and groups and welcoming new kids.

By the end of the month I will post a roster with contract info for all families. Please let me know if you do not want to be included.

Welcome Lucas

We have a new friend this week

Lucas is almost 2 and will be here two mornings per week! 

The Olympics

We will be following along as the US goes for the Gold. 

Today the red birds learned about the torch and the opening ceremonies. If you happen to be home tomorrow night it might be fun to watch the opening ceremony with your child. It's good for them to not only see the athletes but also the flags and idea of many countries coming together.

We had our own kick off party this morning. 

Reminder and Wipe Request

A month or so ago I sent out a request for nappers to please bring lighter blankets and a water bottle / sippy cup that can stay here. Two cups and one blanket were brought in. I do my best to keep the kids cool but these items would really help as well :)
