Welcome New Teacher Kathy

I am excited to welcome Kathy as my new co-teacher. She has lots of experience and a very similar philosophy. During group time she will be working with the Blue Birds.

Hi my name is Kathy Stranathan. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you and working with Megan and your children.

I moved to Sonoma county in 1987 and began working at Learning to Learn as Head Teacher in their Infant and Toddler program.

I left in 2000 to work with the Marin Head Start as a teacher and Site Director in Early Head Start working with families and children under the age of 3 years. I have a BA from Long Beach State, hold a Child Development Site Supervisor permit and received PITC training.

I use music, movement and stories to help children develop language. I will offer activities that allow the children to develop their gross and fine motor skills.

Scholastic Book Orders

One of the best and simplest ways to connect with your child is to read to him. Reading is fun, relaxing and can often be educational. This months Scholastic book catalogs offer lots of great books to add to your child's library.

Book Orders are do the last day of March

Happy Birthday Dr Seuss

Tomorrow kicks off our two-week long tribute to Dr Seuss.

  • Making oobleck
  • Reading lots of fun books
  • Discussing the environment and the plight of the Lorax
  • Rhyming!
  • Celebrating Wacky Wednesday
  • Finding opposites and learning about prepositions
  • Having Pink Ink for snack

Feel free to bring in a book, fun snack or other related item to help us extend this theme. Also, for those who are old enough I do encourage you to go and see the new Dr Seuss movie (unfortunately it is rated PG).
